In My Heart   By Evie Boss   (C)Bossetunes 2005

This Cd is a celebration of the heart for its fortitude and honoring the longing within it. It actually started out because I had written a song honoring women for a retreat I was participating in.  It is called: "Does she know?" and it is about empowerment.  The women loved it so much they asked when I would have it recorded so I came home and did just that.  But as I listened to the song I realized what a celebration the song is!!!!

Nine years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the time I did not realize the gifts I had been given as my marriage fell apart too!  I struggled with some self destructive behaviors but my life did slow down, priorities shifted and I became still enough to feel the ever present longing in my heart.

When I prayed for help I was blessed to receive many lessons to help me break my guarded heart open.   Even before I realized this longing, I was writing songs where my heart spoke to me.   The first nine songs were recorded in "98 on a tape with a good friend; Dave Sheely, playing keyboard.  We recorded all of them in one magical weekend of synchronisity.   Since no one uses tape players anymore I remixed them to CD.  They are songs of longing and surrender, very upbeat melodies.

It took me a long time to really listen to these songs within.
Song #10 (The Cliff) is a new 2005 song and yet it carries the same message as song #9 (Learn to Fly).  That's the beauty of the heart... it is very persistant!  By listening and honoring the songs in my heart I have come to know such love, peace, and empowerment.

May these songs touch your heart's longing and support your own growth.
